Hi ya'll, my name is Olivia and I am a 6 year old Great Dane.

At the moment I am not feeling so good, because my previous owner did not give me enough food and water.

I only weigh 70 lbs, which is about 50% of what I should weigh.

I am very weak right now, which may also be caused by the heartworms that have been allowed to enter my bloodstream and infest my heart.

Thankfully the human law came to my rescue and I'm snuggled up in a blanket next to a warm heater with as much food and water as I can dream of.

I have other dogs to keep me company, even another Great Dane, what a hunk he is! I think he likes me!

But our love has to be platonic, because I'm supposed to get spayed too as soon as I am strong enough and those heartworms are under control.

I think I like that. I need to rest now, my life was too hard up until now.

My foster care mom is very nice to me and keeps me moving, so I can build up some muscles.

She even put me on a treadmill, which I found spooky at first, the ground moving under my feet??

Have you ever heard of such a thing? But if I walk long enough, I eventually do get that piece of bacon at the other end!!!

As ya'll can see, the road of recovery has started for me.

But my foster mom said that it is going to be tough on her too, because the heartworm treatment is going to be expensive and she will need help with that and the spaying, too.

If you can help us, please send a donation to the Olivia Fund, hosted with the Rainbow Wildlife Rescue and Puppyeducation.com.

Any amount will get me one step closer to the needed heartworm treatment and hopefully full recovery.

Also check the Puppy Blog regularly for updates. Soon I will be running and playing, happy again with my human and animal friends and post many pictures and movies!
